An End and a Beginning

Tonight, at 9:55 p.m., I submitted the final essay for my first college course. It was an online course, and the essay, the longest I've ever written, was due at 10:00. I am heaving a great sigh of relief now, ever so glad that it is over.
Yes... it is the end of one thing. Now I can begin to truly enjoy the Christmas season.. essays forgotten, anticipation awakened.

As I sat recording my "works cited" earlier this evening, our Christmas tree was set up against the living room wall near me. My head was bent on my work though my ears quivered with the joyous sounds around me. My family, sitting, drinking coffee and eating gingerbread, were laughing, giddy with the fresh smell of pine and the pleasant sounds of Christmas music.

This is what Christmas means to me, this sitting around with my family, discussing, perhaps, or reminiscing, laughing for no apparent reason, glad to be together.

Ohh, Emma! Hooray! Three cheers for YOU!! Praise the Lord...I'm so happy for you. :) And what a precious picture...Ohhh! That must be the leaf pile Matt was telling me about?! So cute! :D

Missing you so...especially when you describe Christmas like you do. Someday I hope to be sitting next to you in the living room...talking...reminiscing. :)

I'll add my congratulations! It's a wonderful feeling to be done with a class (especially when it involves and essay for me;).

I love the sights, sounds, smells, and tastes of Christmas. I'm so glad you can now enjoy them!

Yay! That must be so relieving to be done with your essay! I know I would be! I am so happy to hear that you can finally get excited about Christmas! I'm really getting in the mood too! I still have a lot of shopping to do though....oh well, it's all fun!

I love just sitting around with family sipping coffie, and having a grand old time! Sitting around, relaxing and just talking is so inviting! hmm...I'm craving Starbucks now......

Have a wonderful Christmas!

I'm still trying to work my way into a Christmas mood...finals just ended for me yesterday...and I must say, I'm tired from these last few days. I think I'll have plenty of that good ol' fashioned spirit once I get a little extra sleep!

I'm so excited for you and your writing class...I finished mine (which I attend in person at my teensy college) last Monday. Lots of writing, but I loved it! Along with a few of my other classes I think I've written about 26 pages so far this year.

Love you both!

Thanks so much for the comments on our blog. Sorry that one got deleted but I did get a chance to read it before it got deleted. I absolutely LOVE Jane Kirkpatrick. It's hard to choose but I think that my favorite series is the one about Madam Dorian. So good! If you haven't read that one..do. It's wonderful! That is surprising to hear that you read her too! I got to meet her also when she did a book signing and Q and A session at a book store in our town a few years ago. That's one of the good things about having local writers! :)

Thanks again for you comments. Love your blog. :) In fact we have nominated you for a blog award here: http://prettywit.blogspot.com/2008/12/award.html

Hope you are getting lots of sleep so that you can get "into the groove" and enjoy the holidays. :)
Love,
Genevieve

Speaking of Christmas and the good things that come of it, my little sister bought me "The Photographer" on DVD for Christmas! She gave it to me today and we just finished watching it. Everyone did such an amazing job! Congratulations on that wonderful accomplishment. I really, really loved the movie and all of the bonus features.
Great work,
Everly Pleasant
